Catch up. Our first 2 weeks on the road.

While at Vandenberg AFB, located near Lompoc, we saw two missions and tasted Danish pastries in Solvang. This is La Purissima de Conception Mission.

This is a picture of the mission guard dog. Sandy named him Woolly Bully. He really wasn't much of a guard dog. The whole time he just laid there and stared at us.

Off to Solvang to taste the Danish pastries, and seeing Santa Inez Mission.

View of the back of our RV's. Buddy and Schotzi are watching us BBQ in between drooling over the million or so ground squirrels running around.

On to Monterey. As most of you know, we can stay on all the military bases around the United States. So next we stayed at the Naval Post Graduate School. The RV park was in the middle of the Monterey Pines Golf Course. This Naval Base was really cool. http://www.nps.edu/about

Sandy and I went off to the Monterey Aquarium while the guys stayed back and worked on things in the RV.

Funny how they park cars at the Aquarium. My car is the one on top.

Off to Petaluma Coast Guard Training Center... but first let me tell you about driving the RV over the Golden Gate Bridge. Larry didn't see the sign, RV and Buses move to the right. Yes we drove through one of the toll booths. But my husband is an amazing driver. He said if the mirrors had one more coat of paint he would have hit them.

I wish I would have had a video of this. Fred and Sandy are behind us holding their breath!! However, THEY moved over to the wide lane.

Stayed at the Coast Guard Training Center which is 50 miles north of San Fransisco. Here they train: cooks, EMT's and advanced technology. So for $4.25 we dined in style at the galley.

This base had a beautiful RV park.

Off to the Redwoods of California...one night stay at a Christian Campground in Garberville, CA. A quick look at some Redwoods.

This must be the scenic route to Pittsburg? There are so many interesting things to see in America. You guys are giving me RV fever again. Who is traveling with you guys? (not the dogs, the other couple?) Roma...p.s. I don't know how to blog, or facebook or select a profile, so I feel silly having to sign out as anonymos...and then sign Roma..dahhh..oh well I'm part of the blog and that's what counts!
